Transforming Programme WP7 - B – Adaptive, collaborative and competitive production

The Q4ALL project proposes a new approach to the development of new standardized integration packages and tools to enable the adaptation and reinvention of current control systems, giving them the ability to operate in flexible and resilient digital process management ecosystems.

To achieve this ambitious goal, it will be essential to incorporate a closed-loop quality assessment mechanism to guarantee the correct operational criteria for this system of heterogeneous systems. It should be noted that Q4ALL's main ambition is to offer new digitalization and quality control solutions so that companies in traditional sectors can diversify their product range more efficiently. Most companies in these sectors still rely on manual quality control, mitigating the occurrence of defective products by increasing mass production capacity. In an environment of small batch production, this paradigm is highly unsustainable. Given that the equipment must continually adapt to produce different models and that the variants themselves tend to become more complex, the integration of rigorous automatic quality control, capable of observing each product and the production process itself, becomes highly desirable. To this end, Q4ALL will incorporate digital inspection and analysis solutions with plug-and-play capability and in line with production, to reduce and mitigate the occurrence of defects and optimize production.

Three use cases will be worked on to test and validate the concept and the results of the R&D sub-projects in three relevant industrial sectors: packaging, cork and food.
