Transforming Programme WP3 - A – Product customization and proximity production

SmartFactory aims to develop and demonstrate a digital twin as-a-service (PaaS) platform for complex production systems, which can be managed through a single control center, where the production manager has at his disposal tools that allow him to plan, simulate, act and adapt to conditions in an agile and adaptive way.

It is hoped to develop a Smart Factory concept, where the main production and logistics processes can be designed and validated in the digital twin, in a low-code programming environment where various production scenarios can be simulated for optimization. Likewise, in a second phase, this digital twin will enable real-time connection to the various elements of the production systems (intelligent equipment, production machines, internal logistics systems, conveyors or AGVs and other robotic elements) via an IIoT and big data platform. By applying hybrid algorithms, physical calculations and artificial intelligence, it will be possible to calculate and infer, in real time, key parameters of the system, machines and equipment (virtual sensors) that cannot normally be measured using physical sensors.

This solution will not only guarantee visibility, interoperability and transparency over production systems, but will also support the traceability of processes and support their control, remotely and digitally through a control center enriched with real time dashboards.
