On 16 May, a workshop dedicated to the presentation of the status of the work under development within the scope of the Navigator demonstrator, part of PPS 30 (Autonomous forklifts, with remote control, for pallet loading and unloading processes) of the Produtech R3 Agenda of the RRP, took place at INESC TEC's iiLab- Industry and Innovation Lab.

There were 32 participants, representing the various institutions involved in this demonstrator, namely: CCG, INESC TEC, FlowBotic, Infinite Foundry, Navigator and NOS Throughout the day, the latest developments in progress were presented and the next steps were envisaged, as well as demonstrations of some of the prototypes under development.

The topics covered all the work in progress, from the simulation of the automated truck loading system at NVG Setúbal and the implementation of the digital twin to understand the best solutions to be implemented in practice, through the characteristics of the 5G network to be implemented to support the teleoperation of AMRs (namely with regard to image and command transmission), from the design of the forklift AMR and the pallet detection system for automating AMR tasks, to the AMR teleoperation system over the 5G network using Augmented Reality.

This event was a huge success, with a high level of technical discussion and exchange of ideas regarding the work in progress and the next steps to be taken. Given the success of this event, it has already been agreed between the partners to hold a next event, to monitor the development of the project, to take place next September, at the Guimarães campus of the University of Minho.
