Tecnologia e Indústria: da Ideia à Inovação de Produto
On 5 February 2026, INEGI organized the event “Technology and Industry: From Idea to Product Innovation” within the framework of the PRODUTECH R3 Mobilizing Agenda. The initiative aimed to disseminate the results achieved under WP2, WP15 e WP16, showcasing technological solutions with industrial application and reinforcing knowledge transfer between research organizations and industry.
On 5 February 2026, INEGI hosted the event “Technology and Industry: From Idea to Product Innovation”, as part of the PRODUTECH R3 Mobilising Agenda, focusing on the presentation and dissemination of results achieved within WP2, WP15 and WP16.
The session featured Dr Ricardo Simões, Innovation Director at CCDR Norte and Associate Professor at IPCA, who highlighted the importance of translating scientific knowledge into industrial competitiveness. This was followed by Eng. João Paulo Pereira, Director of the Product Development and Systems Unit at INEGI, who framed product development as a strategic driver of innovation and industrial differentiation, emphasising the role of engineering and production technologies in transforming ideas into industrial solutions. Technical results developed under WP2, WP15 and WP16 were subsequently presented, demonstrating solutions with direct industrial application.
Among the showcased developments was an intelligent defect detection system for ceramic plates, developed by INEGI in collaboration with Vista Alegre, illustrating the impact of the project’s work in improving efficiency, quality and innovation in manufacturing processes.
The initiative also included a technical visit to INEGI’s facilities, where additional developments under the Agenda were presented, reinforcing the consortium’s commitment to public dissemination and effective industrial application of project results.
