SmaRTM
Transformer Project SmaRTM
The main objective of the SmaRTM Transformer Project is to automate the production processes of composite components and structures, with a focus on defect-free manufacturing.
This WP represents a partnership between INEGI, responsible for the coordination and development of the decision support system and real-time monitoring technology, with two partners who provide production technologies, TRICAD and Distrim2. Newstamp, as the end user of the solutions, will play a crucial role in the industrial validation of the system, especially in the automotive sector, ensuring that the technologies developed are ready to be applied in real environments.
The technologies applied in the project include sensors and actuators for real-time monitoring of the production process, computational capabilities and artificial intelligence for self-regulation and optimization of processes, minimizing the occurrence of defects, and communication technologies that allow remote control and integration of the system with the production infrastructure. These elements are essential to transform production equipment into autonomous systems, capable of optimizing the production of composites.
So far, SmaRTM is running normally, with a slight delay due to the need to change the design of the part chosen for the case study.
At the end of the project, it is expected that the automated production system will be fully developed and validated, presenting the ability to reduce production costs and improve the recyclability of composite materials and thus expect that the technological solutions will be ready to be implemented in the industrial sectors, bringing significant improvements in the efficiency and sustainability of the production processes.
