Artificial Vision Technology Showcased at 360 Tech Industry Fair to Drive Sustainability in Ceramic Production

At the 360 Tech Industry Fair in Porto on May 23rd, a presentation showcased a project developed within the framework of Produtech R3 WP15 - Digital4Circular. The project focuses on integrating artificial vision technology for defect detection in ceramic dishware production, in collaboration with Vista Alegre company. The main goal is to enhance defect detection processes using innovative technologies, particularly artificial vision, to systematically identify defects during production. This approach aims to minimize waste, optimize production efficiency, and promote sustainability in the ceramic industry, setting a new standard for collaborative innovation.

At the 360 Tech Industry Fair, held in Porto on May 23rd, one of the works developed under the Produtech R3 WP15 - Digital4Circular project was presented. This initiative involved the integration of artificial vision technology aimed at detecting defects in ceramic dishware production, marking a significant collaboration with Vista Alegre company.

The main objective of this work is to increase the reliability of defect detection processes through the implementation of innovative technologies. Specifically, the focus is on using artificial vision to identify defects occurring during dish production. One of the project's main highlights is the emphasis on defect categorization and facilitating the identification of mitigation strategies in the early stages of the process. By systematically identifying these defects, manufacturers can address issues, thus minimizing waste and optimizing production efficiency.

This strategic approach ensures higher product quality, aligning with sustainability goals by significantly reducing waste, thus contributing to a more sustainable industry. Through this work, the project aims to establish a new standard in ceramic production, driving collaborative innovation and sustainability.

As industries worldwide increasingly prioritize eco-friendly practices, initiatives like Digital4Circular serve as beacons of progress, illustrating how technological advancements can pave the way for a greener and more efficient future.
