The Annual Conference - Building a Sustainable Future - The Role of Cultures and Industrial Products will take place in Lisbon from 1 to 5 September 2024
The Association for the Advancement of Industrial Crops – AAIC, invites you to participate in the 35th Annual Conference - Building a Sustainable Future - The Role of Industrial Crops and Products, which will take place in Lisbon, from 1 to 5 September 2024.
The conference will take place within the framework of the PRODUTECH R3 Agenda.
This year, the executive board of the AAIC decided that the meeting will be face-to-face. The Conference website is open for registration and submission of texts). The topics addressed at the Conference are linked to the AAIC Divisions (Cellulosic Fibers and Cultures; Oilseeds; Natural Rubber and Resin; Medicinal plants; Crops and General Products) and include, but are not limited to, the following: crop management practices; Breeding; response of cultivated industrial crops to abiotic and biotic stresses; sustainable cropping systems (cultivation on marginal land, intercropping, double or alternating cropping); new propagation techniques; methods of metabolite extraction; biologically active compounds; biochemical and thermochemical conversion; bio-based materials (textiles, nanofibres, composites, films, adhesives, varnishes, paints, polymers); biofuels (bioethanol, biogas, syngas, biodiesel, jet fuel, drop-in fuels), biochar, chemicals, cosmetics, etc. Please check the website for more information about the cultures and focus of the divisions (https://aaic.org/divisions/).
The Association for the Advancement of Industrial Crops is an international, non-profit, educational and scientific organization created to encourage and promote activities on industrial crops and products. Industrial crops are used for non-food applications.
These plants provide raw materials and products such as energy, starch, oils, fibers, and rubber that are used in different industries. Within AAIC, research includes topics of culture-oriented and bio-based materials.
